Q. Has the Wirral a Labour run council?

A. Yes (except for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor). This question is being answered on 22nd October 2012. Labour took control of Wirral Council on the 21st May 2012. Labour has a majority of 4, with 37 out of 66 seats being held by Labour councillors.

The ten councillors on Wirral Council’s Cabinet are all Labour councillors. The Mayor of Wirral is a member of the Conservative Party and the Deputy Mayor is a member of the Liberal Democrat Party.
