I will declare an interest in this piece as my father has proposed one of the candidates.
The deadline for nominations (plus a £500 deposit) ended yesterday at 4 pm and the candidates in the general election to be Members of Parliament for Wirral West, Wirral South, Birkenhead and Wallasey are now known.

In reference to your question about the fraud (or alleged fraud as the police refer to it), I got an apology out of the the Metropolitan Police, but they still wouldn’t answer my question on that point, so who knows?
So, I’ve no idea!
CfPS is a charity that does training for public bodies in governance. There’s more about them on their website.
However public scrutiny and good governance are not phrases one often hears in the same sentence as Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council!
