Yesterday I was walking along Lime Street, Liverpool near St Georges Hall when I heard the Bishop of Liverpool apologise for how the Church of England had treated those who are gay. Then I got my camera out and started recording (you can watch what I recorded below).

Liverpool Pride (Bishop of Liverpool) 29th July 2017

Nearly a decade ago, in 2008 Michael Causer (who was referred to in banner being held on the Liverpool Pride March) was murdered.

Since that point, the authorities started taking more interest in equality matters.

Five years ago this blog reported on the Liverpool Pride march in 2012.

Now in 2017 (compared to 2012) Liverpool Pride is much larger and well attended event.

Liverpool Pride March (29th July 2017) Lime Street, Liverpool

The event was covered better by the media this year, but as a sign of the times those participating in the march were subject to bag searches.

You can watch part of the march above which includes people well-known to this blog such as Dan Stephens (Chief Fire Officer, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service), Phil Garrigan (Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service), Andy Cooke (Chief Constable, Merseyside Police), Cllr Dave Hanratty (Chair, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority) and Cllr Richard Kemp (Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group, Liverpool City Council).

    1. Over time, the law and social attitudes have changed.

So more people in minority groups no longer feel as afraid as they used to about other people knowing.

Religious attitudes took longer to change though.

  1. G’day John

How many gay clowncillors does wirral have?

Or, are they not allowed to be open, honest and transparent?

    Ooroo

    James

      1. Ah

Clowncillor “Emergency” Ward 10 of him with less publicity shots over New Ferry than her with the dreadful black roots.

        Ooroo

  2. G’day John

You travel over Kev and Stella’s Stinking Stagnant wirral Waters to see the big bully clowncil.

Are they all just as stupid as each other or are they just oblivious to the bigger picture.

Didn’t Uncle Joe learn from AdderleyDadderleyDooLally and “Phil the Very Very Very Very Slimy, Elusive, LYING, Dill” and there foray into the East.

Doesn’t the stench of Kev and STELLA’S Stinking Stagnant wirral Waters travel acroos to Joe’s own country.

They think they are so clever.

They need to have a close look at school exam results and see who is cleverer.

They are rank amateurs employing chancers on big consultancy fees who are probably mostly failed but over ambitious public servants.

    Ooroo

    James

English football doesn’t look around the world either they just think they are smarter than everyone else.

    WRONG

Does Kev still meet up with Stella for a bite…..?????

    Chinese of course.

    1. Yes, I travel to Liverpool quite frequently.

Politics (especially local government) can often end up becoming parochial.

There’s a similar project to the Wirral Waters project on the Liverpool side called Liverpool Waters.

As we left the Liverpool City Council meeting they were starting to discuss a notice of motion on school cuts.

I don’t see Kevin Adderley much these days… since he left Wirral Council.

      1. G’day John

Would that be Uncle “redrow” Joe’s chinese commonwealth games site on evertons football stadium inside the floating swimming pool he’s promised “Philly Liar” he will try and get a golf resort on?

John why are these people given unlimited and free to do anything power?

        Ooroo

        James

        1. Oh John
