Last year, the Office of National Statistics published new figures which changed the household projections for the Wirral Council’s Local Plan from 803 a year to 477 a year. The difference being around 226 households a year.

The papers have been published for the long awaited special public meeting of Wirral Council’s Cabinet to discuss and make decisions on the ongoing omnishambles that is local and national policy on Wirral’s greenbelt.

I sometimes wonder if Baldrick from Blackadder has a relation who works for Wirral Council, as the Cabinet report can be summarised thus and requires a certain amount of cognitive dissonance to get your head around:

This continues from yesterday’s report on Chalmers v Wirral Borough Council which was headlined DJ Hennessy refers to “traffic chaos” and criticises Wirral Council for not complying with a Court Order and covers what happened after the short adjournment.


The three Wirral Council employees (which included the solicitor Mr Bayatti) returned to the hearing room where DJ Hennessy was present. This time one of the three Wirral Council employees had a laptop which was passed around.

Mr Bayatti said that he hadn’t delivered the application to Mrs Chalmers on the day he had delivered copies of the application to the Birkenhead County Court.
