Happy New Year! So what were the ten most watched videos on this blog’s Youtube channel in 2017 (by minutes viewed)?
10 In reverse order, number ten was a video not filmed in 2017, but during the general election in 2015 when there was a well attended public consultation meeting in Saughall Massie about a proposed fire station.
Since then planning permission has been refused, then granted for a smaller fire station (a video associated with that decision is in the number six slot). Work hasn’t started, but is expected to later in 2018.

9 Number nine is a clip of the start of the last meeting of Wirral Council’s councillors. The reason for the interest was the debate on the large petition by the Wirral Needs Campaign. During the meeting there were chants of “Labour Council – listen to the public!” from the public gallery.

8 and 7 Numbers eight and seven are the start and end of Liverpool City Council’s Budget meeting back in March. Part way through the meeting the slide projector went wrong and the meeting later descended into bickering, denials, claims, counter-claims and the kind of behaviour the Lord Mayor doesn’t approve of. There was also the strange spectacle of senior management denying information that Liverpool City Council had released in response to a Freedom of Information request.
