Delayed elections in May 2021 on the Wirral will mean people (depending on where you live) will have either 3 or 4 votes.

Due the resignation of former Councillor Pat Hackett, those in New Brighton will be electing two councillors to Wirral Council. The deaths of former Councillor Geoffrey Watt (West Kirby and Thurstaston) and former Councillor Chris Blakeley (Moreton West and Saughall Massie) lead to elections in their respective wards of one councillor each. The resignation of former Councillor Bill Davies leads to an election of a councillor in Rock Ferry.

Those on the rest of the Wirral (including the ward myself and my wife live in (Bidston and St James)) which are the wards of Bebington, Bidston and St James, Birkenhead and Tranmere, Bromborough, Clatterbridge, Claughton, Eastham, Greasby, Frankby and Irby, Heswall, Hoylake and Meols, Leasowe and Moreton East, Liscard, Oxton, Pensby and Thingwall, Prenton, Seacombe, Upton and Wallasey will each elect one councillor.

Those registered to vote on the Wirral and eligible to vote in these other two elections will also be able to vote for a Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayor.

A brief timetable of the main events in these three elections are below. Those relating to the elections of a councillor are marked CLLR, Police and Crime Commissioner PCC and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayor MAY.

    1. Thanks for your comment keef666, but we’re not quite at the voting stage yet.

There is (at the time of writing) still another day and a half in which candidates can submit nomination papers.
