15,033 people sign petition opposed to proposals for banning dogs on Wirral’s beaches and parks
Yesterday evening, Cllr Chris Blakeley presented a petition on behalf of Wirral Good Dogs and Peaceful Protest Wirral Dogs Ban of 15,033 people opposed to Wirral Council’s proposals to ban dogs from parts of Wirral’s beaches and parks.
Wirral Council’s consultation on the Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Orders ends on Sunday 15th July 2018.

I’ll declare an interest at the outset as someone who regularly films public meetings of Wirral Council and also as I spoke at this meeting.
Yesterday afternoon, councillors on Wirral Council’s Standards and Constitutional Oversight Committee (which you can watch above) discussed changing their policy on filming public meetings.

Wirral Council’s Cabinet agree 150 year lease for fire station in Saughall Massie

Wirral Council’ Cabinet this morning agreed to a 150 year lease to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority of land it owns in Saughall Massie for a new fire station.
During the meeting, Cllr Phil Davies referred to a petition opposing the lease started by Cllr Chris Blakeley (who is a councillor for the area concerned).

Did Hoylake Golf Resort developer offer Wirral Council £300,000 if its planning application is approved?
Although this call in meeting about the Hoylake Golf Resort was last year, as Wirral Council have recently received the Funding Strategy from the developer (Nicklaus Joint Venture Group Limited), a decision by Wirral Council’s Cabinet on the next stage is expected in the couple of months.

Errm, as everybody’s aware we’re here this afternoon for a call-in errm to discuss the merits and the demerits of Hoylake Golf Resort and I’d like to start the proceedings by calling errm Councillor Blakeley please.
