Continues from Planning Committee (Wirral Council) APP/13/00779: Hillfield, 82 Brimstage Road, Barnston, CH60 1XQ – New conservatory to rear of house.

This planning application starts here in the video. The officer said that the plans for the chalets showed them set back from Park Lane and as they were diversifying the rural economy that they met the test of very special circumstances for development in the Green Belt. The income from the chalets would support an existing farm. The officers considered the chalets to have a low impact on the Green Belt and recommended it for approval.

The Chair, Cllr Bernie Mooney thanked the officer and asked if there were any questions? Cllr Stuart Kelly asked why the original plans for six chalets were reduced to three?

Matthew Davies answered that originally it had been for eight, then reduced to six and finally reduced to three. This was because the front of the site was in flood risk zones two and three and couldn’t be developed without raising a statutory objection from the Environment Agency.

Cllr David Elderton referred to a condition on the late list and was grateful they had included it. He said he would support the application.

Cllr David Elderton moved approval, seconded by Cllr Joe Walsh. All councillors except Cllr Simon Mountney voted in favour (he voted against) so the application was approved.
