Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet on Friday agreed to recommend to a public meeting of all Liverpool City Council councillors on Wednesday evening, a new Commercial Property Fund Strategy.

The policy recommends that Liverpool City Council invest £50 million in commercial property of which £25 million will be borrowed and £25 million from future sales by Liverpool City Council of land and buildings.

A joint inspection of Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group by OFSTED and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out in January 2019 identified “significant weaknesses”.

Her Majesty’s Chief Inspectorate determined a “Written Statement of Action” was required. Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group have been jointly required to submit this statement.

Above is a picture of and video of Mayor Joe Anderson speaking in 2015 about Liverpool City Council ’s controversial plans for housing in Liverpool in a much loved park. After two related planning permissions for the project were approved by Liverpool City Council they were then quashed with reasons given in a 27 page judgement by a High Court Judge in a judgement handed down last Friday. Liverpool Open and Green Spaces Community Interest Company brought the successful legal challenge.
