Councillors on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority will be asked next week to agree to a further £600,000 for a new fire station at Saughall Massie. The government’s contribution to the project has been increased from £1.5 million to £2.086 million.

Wirral Council’ Cabinet this morning agreed to a 150 year lease to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority of land it owns in Saughall Massie for a new fire station.

During the meeting, Cllr Phil Davies referred to a petition opposing the lease started by Cllr Chris Blakeley (who is a councillor for the area concerned).

Below is the text of a letter I received earlier this month from a David Ball at Wirral Council following a stage 1 complaint I made about the grant of planning permission APP/17/00306 (which was for a fire station in Saughall Massie).

I will point out that there are aspects to the letter I don’t agree with, but in the interests of transparency, the public interest in the matter and the seniority of David Ball I am publishing it below. As it’s two pages, a link break is shown between the two pages.
