The following is meant as satire and didn’t really happen.

Inside a bar at the Last Chance Saloon in a dusty town in the Wild West sit round a circular table five players and a dealer of cards. Sitting next to the dealer is his wife.

The bar staff are at a discreet distance away washing glasses by the bar wondering what will happen and whether they’ll still have a job after this game.

The players are Moira, Pat C, Ian, Pat H and Phil.

Yesterday the people of Wirral (including myself) voted. I myself voted in Bidston and St James ward. Other people voted in the other twenty-one wards across Wirral.

The result of this election is that Labour has lost its majority on Wirral Council.

A letter from Merseyside Police to all candidates and agents (which can be viewed above) in the elections of a councillor to Wirral Council states that there will be “a focus on education rather than education rather than prosecuting minor breaches of Electoral Law” but at the same time warns that, “It is the absolute responsibility that all candidates and agents should make themselves aware of these guidelines and if someone is going to run as a candidate then ignorance of these guidelines will not be a defence.”
