Information revealed through a recent Freedom of Information Act request shows that Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service paid a firm of chartered surveyors to value both Upton and West Kirby fire stations in March 2015.

Upton Fire Station was valued for insurance purposes at £1.1 million (with a Depreciated Replacement Cost valuation of £590,000) with West Kirby Fire Station insurance purposes value was £1.085 million (with a Depreciated Replacement Cost valuation of £685,000).

The valuation also revealed that Upton Fire Station has an estimated economic lifespan of ten years and West Kirby Fire Station of fifteen years. In a letter accompanying the response to the Freedom of Information Act request Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service stated “Please note the attached Valuations are not market values but Depreciated replacement cost (DRC) valuations, only obtained for insurance purposes, we do not hold information about market values. The valuations have been provided in accordance with the RICS valuation – Professional Standards 2014 (“the Red Book”)”.

Despite Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service stating “we do not hold information about market values” of Upton Fire Station and West Kirby Fire Station a report to councillors on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority in January 2015 stated “The costs of any new build station are referenced in Appendix F, together with an estimate of the potential income from the sale of the buildings and land at Upton and West Kirby.”

Councillors on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority have passed resolutions in October 2014 and January 2015 to keep the estimated capital costs of building a new fire station (along with estimates of what they would receive from a sale of Upton Fire Station and West Kirby Fire Station) out of the public domain.

A report on the recent consultation will be published tomorrow. Councillors on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority will meet next week and decide what happens next.

Out of the eighteen councillors on Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority, the four councillors representing Wirral Council are Councillor Lesley Rennie, Councillor Denise Roberts, Councillor Jean Stapleton and Councillor Steve Niblock.

  1. G’day John

I can’t remember who it was, and I don’t care, that said I was being ridiculous with cryptic names.

Almost four years ago to the day I saw Kevin Adderley and Paula Basnett to whistleblow on an about £2,000,000.00 fraud by Wirral “Funny” Bizz.

Since then they have not prosecuted anybody and spent about £200,000.00 defending their lies and paying off the chief internal auditor.

They have ignored reports by the original auditor Beverley Edwards, Grant Thornton and DCLG.

Come on heroes pipe up now and defend these “public servants”.

And as for 65 elected good men of the council can any one of you scumbags defend these, as bad as the original criminals, officers? Not you raving lunatic.

Look what happened to Stuart Kelly.

This lot make the masons look like an open honest and transparent organisation.

    Come on speak up.

    aka brad davies’s plonker puller

    Still fuming John

By the way you defenders of the evil scum officers at Wirral.

I have been on the dole for the four years since seeing Adderley and Basnett and I have not asked for one penny from anybody apart from a loan from Hobro.

When Basnett started to offer me a job I showed no interest and like Martin Morton I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to work with this shite.

Come on Annony Mouse and MY Ronnie pipe up again if you think they are decent people that have no case to answer.

  2. Something has to be done after all it is our money they are philandering away to their chums whether its Council Tax,Income Tax or even the outrageous parking fees!

  3. G’day John

Come on you big mouths that want me to shut up about the criminals at Wirral please comment on this piece in Nigel’s request for an internal review to the DCLG.

I certainly am going to make representations to the court of Auditors in Europe about this matter.

If it be claw-backs that you are discussing levied on any negligent local authorities then why were you able to make conclusions against Social Enterprises North West in Liverpool-a £4m claw-back,which no doubt you will never collect-in so rapid an order-the project starting in 2012 and concluding in December 2014 with the claw-back?

Is it because local authorities are public authorities and Social enterprises North West was a private company?

It is not in the public interest for your department to appear to “manage” scandals where public authorities are involved but to slam down hard on small private companies.

So gobs’ why is Wirral treated as SPECIAL?

Why can people in Wirral get away with daylight robbery?

    1. Mr Griffiths, I am sure that the DCLG and all other Departments (Central Government) are well aware of who is doing what and when.
Remember “Public Interest and Fair Hearing|”. I know that certain people are at it, why do I know because the FOI at Wirral have answered me, through the person who I asked questions of.

I better not do a Cove blunder here ” However ” I have made Complaints and have received some Threat of Court Action against me, which they carried out, but it only put them further in the Messy Stuff. It is absolutely pathetic to think I would even Countenance giving up and letting these Scumbags Escape.

These people have not been able to Compromise me up to now and again should they try, I will report further to the proper Police in the Nations Capital, like they do when it suits them. I have not forgotten that one neither (Reports, Evidence, etc).

With all due respect to the people concerned, I would do a ” Biggus Dickus ” Sketch and next time the man visits the man ” Throw himself to the Floor ” and Atone, it can only help. Meanwhile I will get on preparing my DPP File OOEEOO Steve Harper

      1. G’day Reps

        It is four effing years.

If it was rise in their pay or allowances they were waiting for there would be uproar.

  4. Some thing is only worth the value that someone puts on it, if the other party is willing to pay that price!

  5. Keef666, That is quite correct, if however something is insured and it breaks, electric fault or catastrophe, befalls it or should I say falls down
and you have a Block Insurance, would that Department be able to Claim?
Health and Safety Remember – I saw a Guy in Liverpool and his Company had a Fire, Staff had lost their Jobs, he was Smiling. If you check the Wirral Globe, somebody was doing the same, Laughing!!!!!!! Someone got the photo’s wrong or Genuine Delight?

  6. What’s going on John

Last week it was shopping and they let a clowncilloress out and now it is cooking and another has been let loose.

The boys couldn’t go in case William Hague Leader of the House of Commons had them arrested. hahahahahahahahahaha

    1. William Hague stopped being Leader of the House of Commons on the 8th May 2015. He’s not a Member of Parliament any more.

      1. G’day John

“Ankles” isn’t “The Dunny Chain Wearer” either but Adderley is still a liar and “The Shyster” told Basnett to keep her gob shut…her words.

        1. G’day John

You made me laugh so i thought I would return the compliment.

“The Shyster” wrote this letter to me on

          12 AUGUST 2011

          Dear Mr Griffiths

I write with reference to the above matter and acknowledge receipt of the various emails you have sent in connection with the alleged activities of Enterprise Solutions Limited in relation to Wirralbiz.

In accordance with the Council’s Whistleblowing Policy I have referred this matter to Jane Morgan, the relevant Departmental Confidential Reporting Officer. Ms Morgan will be responsible for keeping your complaint in a secure place, maintaining records and reporting on the concerns raised and their outcomes as and when required.

I have discussed the allegations you have raised with the Council’s Internal Audit Section and have requested that they investigate the allegations as a matter of urgency. The officer that will have conduct of the investigation is Ms Beverley Edwards and she will be in contact with you very shortly to progress this matter further. Ms Edwards will confirm the manner in which the investigation will take place and once preliminary queries are addressed, she will be in a position to indicate when you can expect to receive a final response to the allegations raised.

In view of Ms Edwards appointment and to ensure an effective and timely investigation can be conducted and completed, I would be grateful if you would now liaise only with Ms Edwards (I have set out her contact details below) in connection with this matter. I note that you have sent various emails concerning your allegations to many individuals, including Council Members and employees of Enterprise Solutions Limited. Whilst I appreciate your frustration and desire for pro-active steps to be taken quickly, I would strongly suggest that you now refrain from sending emails to other persons other than to Ms Edwards (in connection with this matter) as this will mitigate the risk of the investigation being prejudiced or being undermined.

Ms Edwards will be provided with the various emails you have sent to date and will retrieve all relevant information you have already provided to other officers. The disclosure and gathering of any further/additional information will no doubt be addressed as part of the investigation.

The Council of course takes the allegations you have raised very seriously and I trust the course of action I have outlined above meets with your approval.

          Contact Details

No Sir Git it does not meet with my approval.

          Got it buffoon.

Why should a law degree allow you to be above the law?

Show Ms Edwards report if there is nothing in the allegations.

          1. G’day John

Another blast from the past as I have said this is nearly all over for me.

Relevant at this time with Ecca not saying anything.

This email was at the time of Gra Gra’s honeymoon period.

You know John when the gang are giving the orders and the Chief Executive is not allowed to say anything…like now.

Sent to all the councillors, The Post Grant Thornton etc by moi.

            Sent: Thursday, 25 April 2013 9:31 AM
Subject: Representations Under The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998

Dear (still only acting, when are you going to do something?) Chief Executive

I came to see Kevin Adderley and Paula Basnett in……. early June 2011…… and he lied to me and not much else.

Lockwood Engineering did go into liquidation!

I resolved that I would not return to Australia until this matter was resolved, two years on and I am still here.

I do not think that you know or care about the effect you have on peoples lives. You must make your family so proud.

Even the guilty party in this case wants you to resolve it derrrr!!!!! soon.

Surjit (I don’t know if I have read that report) Tour said at a meeting with Nigel Hobro, Adrian Jones and myself he was going to do certain things, ask Councillor Jones.

Yes you guessed it he didn’t do those things.

Why are you hindering the police, The Daily Post and are you encouraging Grant Thornton to re-write their report?

Why didn’t they investigate council workers?

This deserves to go national and I will be encouraging people to do that. You really are asking to go into administration yourselves.

            Have a nice week.

Ps Sorry I forgot to thank you for the offhand note thanking me for bringing this matter to your attention.

I didn’t actually get any sense or feeling of you being sincere.

            So John.

Ave a laugh that was four years ago when Gra Gra just started before his 29 mistakes in 7 seconds on Radio Merseyside.

            1. G’day John

Before you correct me again that was two years ago not four.

The initial whistleblowing was four years ago almost to the day.

              1. I think Wirral Council should have done a much better job of communicating with whistleblowers what they’re doing in response to their whistleblowing concerns rather than keep them guessing.

            2. Even the Daily Post (also called the Liverpool Daily Post) doesn’t exist any more now. It ceased publishing in 2013 after 158 years.

              1. Mr Brace, I am also aware of that one and why the Information lead to it’s down fall and how pressure is and can be brought to bare/bear on respective people in the know. Should have got shut and reported – Blackmail can only be applied if you let it!!!!!
The next step is a Weekly or Monthly or Annual Bung. It could be even do as you are told or else. Next?

          2. Ahh yes.

A “timely investigation”. I have looked up timely in the dictionary and the definition it gives is “occurring at a suitable time”

Wirral Council’s view of timely is probably different to yours.

Anyway talking of the time I have an article to write…..

  7. G’day John

I presume Ecca has signed those cheques for Frankenstein, “Ankles”, “Phil the Dill” and “Phil the Dill’s Ugly Twin Brother with the comb over from hell” that Gra Gra wouldn’t sign.

They would have had a quiet word

And here’s to you, Mr Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know wo wo wo
God bless you please, Mr. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray (Or is that pay?)

We’d like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you all you see are sympathetic eyes Bulbous bloodshot)
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home

And here’s to you, Mr Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know wo wo wo
God bless you please, Mr Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray (Or is that pay?
Hey hey hey, hey hey hey

Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes
It’s a little secret just the Robinsons affair
Most of all, you’ve got to hide it from the kids (Because they will be ashamed)

I hope they spend it wisely John

Poor old Ecca but they will find him another job if he is now in the stinking fetid inner circle
