Greens, Lib Dems and Conservatives gain councillors on Wirral Council as Labour and Independents lose seats – No Overall Control (no party has a majority)

Yesterday the people of Wirral (including myself) voted. I myself voted in Bidston and St James ward. Other people voted in the other twenty-one wards across Wirral.

The result of this election is that Labour has lost its majority on Wirral Council.

Electoral Commission confirms that Wirral Council used wrong legislation in candidates’ consent to nomination that was nearly 4 years out of date!

The Electoral Commission have confirmed today that Wirral Council issued all candidates in the twenty-two elections of a councillor to Wirral Council nomination papers that contained a flaw.

In a statement provided today The Electoral Commission wrote, “We will update the forms with the additional relevant extracts of the legislation to reflect the amendment the next time we revise them.

What happened on a visit to polling station 3 (Holy Cross Primary School) in polling district AC in Bidston and St James ward?

Today (2nd May 2019) is polling day in twenty-two elections across Wirral of a councillor to Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.

On polling day polling stations are open between 7 am and 10 pm so people can vote in person. This is a brief report on polling station number 3 for polling district AC in the Bidston and St James ward visited this morning. It is at Holy Cross Primary School in Gautby Road, Bidston, Wirral and is the polling station for the largest polling district in this ward which is for 2,335 electors.
