Happy New Year! So what were the ten most watched videos on this blog’s Youtube channel in 2018 (by minutes viewed)?


10 In reverse order, number ten was a video of Liverpool City Council filmed on the 14th November 2018. Jean Luc Courcoult and Royal De Luxe (the artistic director and company behind the Giants) were in that order added to the Freedom Roll of Association or awarded Freedom of the City.

Since a legal change in August 2014, I have filmed eleven public meetings of Wirral Council’s Birkenhead Constituency Committee with no problems.

The press release issued by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government in 2014 can be read at that link.

The 2014 legal change contained in the Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations 2014 amended both the Local Government Act 1972 and Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 (both of which had previously given a power to Wirral Council to stop filming at public meetings).

Birkenhead Constituency Committee (Wirral Council) 1st March 2018 Part 1 of 2

Yesterday evening saw the Birkenhead Constituency Committee meet for the first time at the Wirral Deen Centre on Borough Road on a cold, snowy evening that the Vice-Chair described as “horrendous”.

Prior to the public meeting starting, there was a chance from 6 pm for informal networking and to sample multicultural food.
